Slavery, activism and hermitude

The topic of today's scripture study and discussion was approaches to slavery from different religions, and also about the emphasis on being a hermit Vs activism in different religions. Yoji, myself, John, James, Claire (who led the session), Mo, Kevin, and Shimon were present. In slavery we discussed transatlantic slavery, untouchability, catholic and protestant missions, Bahai scriptures on slavery etc. As for the issue of activism Vs seclusion, the consensus was that it is sometimes necessary for spiritual growth, but the emphasis varies between different religions.
